Basel Social Club – during Art Basel Week 2026
While the international art world gathers in Basel for Art Basel, the Basel Social Club transforms a vacant office building into a temporary stage for art, encounters, and new perspectives.
This year’s edition explores the future of the workplace. The focus is on topics such as productivity, leisure, and recreation, as well as the impact of digitalization, remote work, and artificial intelligence on our daily lives.
The “Hole in One Culture” carpet addresses these questions and translates them into a walk-in installation.
With its indoor golf course, the work parodies the modern status symbols of contemporary offices, where entertainment and productivity are increasingly merging. What appears playful at first glance, upon closer inspection, opens up a critical examination of performance, availability, and the staging of coolness in today’s working world.
Thus, the rug becomes not only a design object but also a commentary on the way we work, live, and spend our time today.

Beni Bischof
Beni Bischof (b. 1976) is a contemporary Swiss artist known for his humorous, provocative, and socially critical works.
His works straddle the boundaries between art, pop culture, satire, and observations of everyday life. Through collages, drawings, sculptures, and installations, he questions social norms and the absurdities of modern life.
His works have been exhibited nationally and internationally. For the Basel Social Club 2026, he collaborated with KRAMIS to create the rug “Hole in One Culture.”
